Savvy Researcher - MAXQDA for Analyzing Survey Data
MAXQDA is a robust software for analyzing qualitative data, including text, media, and survey data. The software is free for all University of Illinois users via a license provided by Illinois Computes.
MAXQDA can be used for analyzing survey data This workshop assumes basic knowledge of MAXQDA including importing data files, creating codes, and applying codes to text data. If you are new to MAXQDA, you may want to view the Introduction to MAXQDA materials before this workshop.
By the end of this workshop, we hope you'll be able to: 1) Import survey data from a spreadsheet into a MAXQDA project 2) Set up survey questions as codable data, variables, or both 3) Use manual and automatic coding tools to code text data in survey responses 4) Compare coded qualitative data across variables within the survey population.

This workshop will be held in Library 314 and will not be recorded. An online version of the workshop will be held on Thursday, April 2 and will be recorded for later viewing on the Qualitative Data Analysis research guide.
THIS SESSION WILL BE TAUGHT IN-PERSON (314 MAIN LIBRARY) Directions to Room 314, Main Library:Take the north stairwell (Armory and Wright Street entrance) to the 3rd floor of the Main Library and make a left at the top of the stairs.Alternatively, take the elevator located next to the University Archives office (near the Wright St. entrance).
When you arrive on the 3rd floor, room 314 is the second door on the left side of the hall.
